Job Description

Pratt Institute’s History of Art and Design office seeks a graduate student to work 10+ hours a week as a social media coordinator. This position oversees content upkeep and student contact via Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and the department’s HADPRATT website. The student assistant will work closely with the administrative staff to develop strategies to create and disseminate content, update social media feeds, and help design and execute the department’s social media engagement plan. Update, monitor, and send necessary emails using MailChimp and video meet transcribing and video editing. Participate occasional design projects and database updates. Self motivative, efficient, and responsive to all inquaries internally and externally. 

This is for 2026 Summer: May, June, July, and August

       Brand voice & Messaging
       Brand Management
       Content creation
       Blogging, website contents update
       Organization of documents, creating and organizing digital files and folders 
       Assist with proofreading documents for posts and feeds, email lists updates, and course listing updates
        Participte and prepare preliminary conversations with departmental chair and administrative staff to discuss HAD Pratt events, marketing/brand strategies, student needs/interests, study abroad offerings, etc.
        Some clerical duties as needed; other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:  Candidate should be versed with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and the other social networks not only in terms of how to use each platform but also how to propagate content across them to build brand presence. Creative mindset. Writing skills required. Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Video editing skills and experience in working with databases are preferred. Candidate should have strong communication skills, an ability to work in a collaborative environment, a self-starter who is able to work independently when needed, very-organized, efficient and able to multi-task. Daily assigned tasks must be completed each time unless specified.
