Job Description

We are looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic, and flexible Public Programs Assistant to support events from planning to execution.

This position will provide events, administrative, logistical, and research support to the Public Programs Office within the Office of the Provost. Events will include the commencement ceremony and related celebrations in addition to other public programming thrroughout the year. There will be some evening events support required. The GA will work 20 hours a week, with some hours in-office and some remote (to be discussed). 

 

Job Requirements

Duties include:

Day-of events support, adminsitrative support including setting up and breaking down events, event registration providing front of house management such as check-in, greeting guests, and answering questions;

 

Procuring supplies, organizing ground transportation; and

 

Navigating platforms for event registration, check in, and budgeting, reconciling office credit card expenses, expense tracking and receipt management. File management and organization.

Skills

Strong writing and communciation skills required.

Appreciation for analog processes and thoughtful attention to detail. 
Research skills.
 
Spreadsheet and data management skills are highly desirable.
 
 
A familiarity with events work and cultural programs is also helpful.
