Job Description

The 3D Printing Monitor position is an entry-level position in Digital Production Labs for the School of Design. Students will have the opportunity to learn how to prepare files for and operate 3D printers. 

  • Intake student files and work with files submitted in a slicer

  • Fix files and check for printability using a fixing software like Netfabb

  • Prepare GCODE files and send to the printer

  • Load and unload materials to the printer

  • Monitor machine while printing

  • Clean up, lab maintenance, and basic 3D printing maintenance

  • Give basic tutorials to student users.

Job Requirements
  • Must be punctual with great communication skills

  • Must be friendly with good customer service skills

  • 3D modeling proficiency required

  • Must be comfortable tinkering with small parts and fixing

  • Must be curious about and designing for 3D printing

  • Must be an independent worker
