Career Advocate

The Center for Career and Professional Development, CCPD, has an opening for a Career Advocate (CA) to help promote the CCPD with strategies for programs and workshops that help Pratt students and alumni achieve career and professional success. This includes managing a team of CA’s representing the CCPD office on campus. CA’s work collaboratively as a team to develop campus engagement opportunities which includes on campus tabling , managing a social media plan and content as well as career research This is a unique opportunity to use your natural talent as a communicator in a professional setting.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities/Objectives

Career Advocates are trained to provide career assistance to their peers through the following: 

 

  • Research career and other relevant topics for the Pratt Community

  • Create methods of information delivery 

  • Understanding data and visual storytelling 

  • Create and Assist with department events and other special projects

  • Create new ways to inform and educate students on CCPD programs, services and resources by promoting the CCPD around campus 

  • Develop marketing and promotion strategies to promote the CCPD 

  • Develop a social media plan

  • Act as a liaison to student organizations and entities (i.e. residence halls) on campus.

  • Promote the CCPD around campus 

  • Collect and communicate data

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Google Suite

  • Knowledge of Adobe creative suite and design methodologies

  • Excellent research/writing skills

  • understanding data-driven visual narratives 

  • Social media management

  • Developing and delivering presentations and programming

  • communication and time management
