Photo Studio Monitor

** Now Hiring for Fall '26! **

So you’re a Photo Major and have extensive Photography experience and are both artistic and technically skilled; You're a pro DSLR camera user, adept at studio lighting and passionate about helping students and faculty with their photo shoots- the Photo Studio is looking for you!

Pre-requisite

Must have previous Photography knowledge and experience, essential studio lighting and DSLR camera operation skills

Must be available to work at least 8 hours per week on-site at the Brooklyn Campus

Must be available to work between the hours of 9am and 8pm Monday through Friday and Saturday -Sunday 10am-6pm

 

 

 

 

 
 
Job Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Provides excellent customer service: handles inquiries and answers any questions about the photo studio

  • Keeps track of scheduled studio appointments via Q-reserve

  • Records No-Shows and sends emails as required

  • Regularly checks studio email inbox and answers emails

  • Sets up photo equipment: seamless, lights with light modifiers in time for studio appointments and assists with photo shoots if needed

  • Advises students on studio lighting and DSLR camera operation

  • Downloads digital files and transfers to students’ portable hard drive or delivers files via We Transfer

  • Formats memory card in camera and keeps camera batteries charged

  • Organizes all equipment and seamless rolls at the end of every photo shoot

  • Assists Studio Manager in daily operations and studio tasks as assigned

  • Keeps the studio organized and tidy

  • Carries out Opening and Closing procedures of the studio

 

Skills

DSLR camera-operation, Basic studio lighting and studio set-up knowledge is required

Knowledge of image editing software like Lightroom and Photoshop is required

Photo-studio assisting experience and working knowledge of studio lighting, light modifiers and digital asset management is a plus!

Some lifting / moving of equipment, studio lights and seamless rolls will be required
