Job Description

School of Art Dean’s Office Graduate Assistant 

8 - 10 hours per week (flexible based on availability) 

One Semester Position; with potential to renew for Spring 2026

Application Deadline: August 29, 2025

Anticipated start date: September 15, 2025

Tasks

  • Assist in the design and creation of digital assets for the School of Art Dean’s Office programming and promotional campaigns, including posters, Instagram, email banners, individual class promotion etc. 

  • Generate original designs and reusable templates.

  • Assist with hanging posters all over campus. 

  • Maintain an archive of photos, videos and promotional materials in the School of Art Google Drive.

  • Digitize and archive paperwork from past semesters for the Assistant Dean of the school of Art. 

  • Research accessibility best practices for Instagram, email, and poster design. 

  • Work with the Assistant to the Dean to create a visual communications style and accessibility guide for the Dean’s Office.

  • Assist with miscellaneous tasks as needed.

Schedule

This is an in-person position consisting of two 3-4 hour shifts per week. Shifts will be available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 9am-5pm. Location: School of Art Dean’s Office, Main Building, Fourth Floor, Room 411, Brooklyn Campus.

Job Requirements

Candidate qualifications

  • Interest in graphic design and communications 

  • Familiarity and dexterity with social media

  • Interest in visual accessibility

  • Experience with the entire Creative Adobe Suite

  • Experience in photography is preferable

  • Organized and able to work independently on short-term projects
