Job Description

Pratt’s Learning/Access Center (L/AC) facilitates full access for Pratt students with disabilities so they can freely and actively participate in all facets of Pratt life. The L/AC collaborates to provide Institute-wide advisement and consultation on disability-related matters (including legal compliance and universal design) and provides individual services and tools to facilitate diverse learning styles and accommodations in a sustainable, inclusive manner.

 

Graduate Assistant Job Description

The Graduate Assistant for the Learning/Access Center assists with office processes related to services and accommodations for students with disabilities to help ensure that students are receiving necessary services. Applicants should be adept at promoting a positive environment for diversity and inclusion.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Reports to the Assistant Director of the Learning/Access Center, works closely assisting Access Coordinator and Director

  • Assists with assistive technology, maintenance, delivery, tracking and student set-up

  • Assists with data management and assessment procedures

  • Assists with coordinating and providing proctoring services for students, including after-hours exam proctoring and other administrative tasks

  • May occasionally represent the L/AC at tabling events, including on Pratt Manhattan Campus, as needed

  • Work some evening and weekends

Qualifiications:

This job is only open to graduate students. 

Works well with others in team, detail-oriented, confidential, strong spoken and written communication skills

Preferences: Experience working with people with disabilities
