About the Office of Communications and Marketing:

The Office of Communications and Marketing is committed to elevating the visibility of Pratt Institute and positioning it to succeed by telling the Institute’s most compelling stories to a broad range of key audiences. The team is composed of creative and strategic thinkers who advance Pratt’s brand through promotion of the college’s reputation, image, and identity. Our in-house team partners with stakeholders across campus to serve as a strategic partner who helps clients achieve their institutional goals. The team is responsible for managing and overseeing a number of communications and marketing areas including creative services, digital news and content development, media relations, photo/video, social media, and the website.

Description:

The Creative Services team seeks a Student Photographer to assist with various photo and varying video projects, including campus shoots and photo editing. This Student Photographer will also assist with organizing, tagging, and uploading photos in a digital asset management system.  This position reports to the Photo and Video Production Manager and works closely with the Creative Services Project Manager as well as the PCOMM Photographer and Video Shooter/Editor. Commitment is for approximately 20hrs/Week per semester with a preference for the Spring semester with weeknight and weekend hours where needed. 

Location:

This position will include on-campus shoots on the Brooklyn and Manhattan campuses as well as remote work up to 20 hours per week.

 
Job Requirements

Job Requirements 

  • Well versed in digital photography and Adobe Creative Suite photo processing and editing 

  • Experience with environmental portraiture, editorial, event and landscape photography

  • Ability to shoot social media style videos for social distribution

  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager on video projects and varying event coverage

  • Assist on shoots gathering media release consents and providing support to photographers and videographers

  • Maintain editing, processing, retouching, color correcting, and archiving all files in an organized manner within our Digital Asset Management tool

  • Demonstrate strong photographic skills to ensure all content meets standards for Institutional integrity and production quality

  • Ability to process and deliver images in a timely manner

  • Able to work independently with good communication skills

  • Knowledge of Google Drive

  • Schedule flexibility throughout semesters a plus

Preferred Qualifications

Preferably a Photography or Film/Video student

Ability to shoot and edit both video and still digital images preferred
