Job Description

The School of Design Production Labs is seeking tutors from all SoD departments for the 3D Printing Tutoring Lab, a 3D prototyping and learning facility designed to empower users with a more hands-on approach to the world of 3D printing.

As a peer tutor, you will play a role in supporting and guiding students in their learning and exploration of 3D printing. You will work one-on-one with students to enhance their understanding of 3D printing, from file setup to print troubleshooting, while fostering creativity through utilization of this fabrication tool.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting orientation sessions to introduce the fundamentals of 3D printing to interested students.
  • Providing tutoring sessions to support students with 3D printing design considerations, optimizing slicer settings, and operating equipment.
  • Creating and updating educational materials and tutorials.
  • Regularly maintaining and repairing 3D printers.

Qualifications:

  • Previous 3D printing experience.
  • 3D modeling experience, specifically Rhino or SolidWorks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for teaching and assisting peers.
  • Ability to commit to two semesters of employment.

Hourly Rate $16.50/hour
