Editorial Assistant – Prattfolio

Prattfolio, the magazine of Pratt Institute, is seeking a graduate editorial assistant who is interested in working with our team to highlight the work of alumni, students, and faculty across the range of disciplines at Pratt. Responsibilities of this role include research, writing, and participating in the magazine’s editorial workflow. The editorial assistant may also be tasked with supporting related editorial initiatives within Pratt Communications and Marketing.

Projects may include:

-Writing Alumni Notes announcements based on information submitted by alumni for consideration, press releases, news articles, and other sources.

-Researching and writing for Prattfolio’s New and Noteworthy department, covering products and publications by alumni that are available in the marketplace.

-Researching student, faculty, and alumni work; historical subject matter; and other Pratt-related subjects for magazine and related editorial projects. 

-Corresponding with and/or interviewing students, faculty, and alumni for stories. 

-Researching imagery and securing permissions for image use.

-Performing administrative tasks to assist in digital production (e.g., writing alt-text for images, drafting copy for social media, uploading and laying out content in our CMS).

-Proofreading and fact-checking.

16 hours per week (Fall 2025)

Stipend: $20 per hour

This position is hybrid, with in-office work at Myrtle Hall on Pratt’s Brooklyn; hours to be discussed.

-Interest in visual storytelling and digital publishing a plus
